Here's what you (actually) need for university

• What should I pack for uni?

  More than you think...

  Most university accommodation does not include bedding, towels or kitchen essentials, so you’ll need to organise everything yourself. This usually includes bedding, pillows, towels, pans, utensils, cleaning products and everyday basics.

  To make things easier, our Complete Student Kits combine everything you need for your bedroom, bathroom and kitchen in one box, ready and waiting for you on move-in day.

  Our main options include:

  • Standard Complete Kit – our best-seller, with essential bedding, towels and induction-compatible cookware designed to last throughout university.
    
  • Premium Complete Kit – everything in Standard, with upgraded bedding and higher-quality kitchenware.
    
  • Deluxe Complete Kit – our most premium option, with luxury bedding, high-end kitchenware and added extras.
    

  If you've already started, you can also create a Custom Kit, choosing exactly what you need.

  Most students choose a complete kit to avoid the stress of packing, reduce luggage, and have everything delivered before they arrive.

• Is bedding included at uni?
  

  Most university accommodation in the UK does not include bedding, towels or kitchen essentials as standard. In most cases, your university will advise you to either bring these items with you or buy them after you arrive - which isn't always easy if you arrive out-of-hours.

  Most Uni's & accommodation providers do not accept student deliveries before check-in, which can make preparing your room more difficult, that's where we come in.   This means you can avoid overpacking, extra luggage costs, and last-minute shopping, making it one of the easiest ways to prepare for university.

• What size bedding do I need buy for my uni room?

  Your uni will usaully confirm your bed size in your pre-arrival accommodation details. Simply match this to the correct UniKitOut bedding kit.

  All UniKitOut duvets and pillows are hotel quality, designed for comfort throughout your time at university.

  UK Single

  • Mattress: 90 x 190cm
    
  • Duvet: 136 x 200cm

  (Our single kit includes 1 pillow and pillowcase)
  

  Small Double (3/4 or 4ft)

  • Mattress: 120 x 190cm
    
  • Duvet: 198 x 198cm

  Extra Long Beds (7ft)
  
  Some universities use longer beds. In this case, you can use a standard duvet but will need extra-long fitted sheets to ensure the correct fit.

• Can I send parcels to uni before I check in?

  Most university accommodation does not accept parcel deliveries before check-in, which can often make it difficult to organise bedding, kitchenware and essentials in advance, especially if you’re travelling from a distance - and that's where we come in.
