Our Social Responsibility

UniKitOut by Gailarde is a family business to the core, we're passionate about objectives including taking extra measures to minimize environmental externalities.

We are proud to say we not only meet, but aim to exceed any relevant legislation, and if legislation does not exist in a particular area, we make sure that we carry out best practices anyway. We are committed to ensuring that everything we do in business is carried out as ethically as possible by following the below policies.

Charity Work

We love to "do our bit" for charities close to our hearts. We work closely with The Care Necessities, which provides a practical care package for Children and their families who have been admitted into Great Ormond Street Hospital for urgent cancer treatment. We'd love it if you could donate here.

In addition to this, we have donated on average £3,000 per year to charities such as Great Ormand Street Hospital, Jewish Blind and Disabled, Cancer Research, Hallmark Care Homes and British Heart Foundation to name a few.

We donate crucial starter kits such as bedding and other staples to schemes who support estranged students wanting to attend University.

We also support a number of charities by sponsoring events by way of donations, sponsorships & prize giveaways to encourage & maximise donations.

Looking after our Employees

We actively look out for our employees' mental health, we distribute helplines throughout the business and employ a strict "open door" policy. We're an Equal Opportunities Employer & employ staff from diverse backgrounds including race, sex, religion, belief, gender, sexual orientation & disability status.

Our Suppliers’ Standards | Modern Slavery

We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and Gailarde is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business dealings and relationships.

It is important to us to have a business that adheres to our family & community beliefs. Absolutely everyone that works with us is treated as part of the team and we are 100% committed to the standard of the working environment as well as ensuring good living conditions are adhered to. Gailarde are in line with the Modern Slavery Act 2015. Read our Modern Slavery Policy.

Protecting the Environment | Sustainability

We're making waves in the steps to providing a more sustainable future. As a family business, we hope that our grandchildren and their children will take over the running of the company.  We've introduced an Eco Collection which contains organic Linen, Duvets, Pillows & Cushions made from recycled plastic bottles & blankets repurposed from reclaimed mixed fabrics.

As with many others, we are on a journey. We are proud of the achievements we have made, however with the start of a new decade, Gailarde will take the opportunity to set ambitious targets for 2030. Read our Sustainability Policy.

We are committed to continually reviewing and improving our practices on a regular basis. Further information on all sections can be found on www.gailarde.com
